Empty Mansions: The Mysterious Life of Huguette Clark and the Spending of a Great American Fortune

Empty Mansions: The Mysterious Life of Huguette Clark and the Spending of a Great American Fortune

The life of wealthy heiress,  Huguette Clark who disappeared from society in the 1920's. I hear the book takes time to get to the meat of the story but you find out things about this reclusive woman that will make you turn every page faster than you did the last.

What do you think of this little list? There are a few I left out but only because I will be spotlighting them soon on my blog and elsewhere (stay tuned for that!)

Let me know if you read any of these or would like to see them included in the AVN Book Club. Are there any vintage themed books you are reading (or read) that you find worthy to recommend?

Happy Reading!

  3. I have this weird interest in Huguette Clark. I have been following her story ever since I heard about her in the hospital. A very interesting lady. I have this book. It's kind of like she was in a time warp bubble. Christie's is having an auction of her things coming up but it is mainly art and furniture.

  4. How cool! I've seen the first two and can't wait to get copies of each. The last two you listed sound extremely interesting to me. I'll have to look them up. Thanks for sharing!
