I know New York seems like the type of city where a lot of vintage events would be happening but actually I have found it to be a struggle to find them. You can go inside the Empire State Building and admire the beautiful art deco but what else does the city that never sleeps offer?
Here are a few events that are happening this summer and if you attend one of them.
Museum of Moving Image: Mad Men Exhibit Until September 6th
Aunt Barbara's Tupperware Party July 18th
TCM Hosts Double Indemnity (on the big screen!) July 19 & 20
Fashioning The Body: An Intimate History of the Silhouette Until July 26th
10th Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party August 15 & 16
TCM Hosts Grease Sing-A-Long (on the big screen) August 16 & 19
Freedom Journey 1965: Photographs of the Selma to Montgomery March at the New York Historical Society Until October 25th
I am sure hope there will be more vintage events popping up. The best way to find out about these types of events is by word of mouth so share with the vintage community and let others know!
What a fabulously fun array of happenings in NYC this summer. The Grease sing along in particular appeals to me. Such a shame I'm thousands of miles away! I hope that you have a blast and any and all of these events that you attend, dear Daffny.
ReplyDeleteJoyful start of summer wishes!
