Well guys and girls, I have officially entered my fifth month of my 356 day blog challenge! The year is going by SO fast. I want you, my readers, and also my future readers know what A Vintage Nerd is all about and why I chose to do a challenge like this one. I began blogging in the summer of 2011 under a different blog name and under a stage name (Bunny Moreno). Eventually that blog progressed to Bunny's Victory but many of you are aware that I needed a change and I took the leap into A Vintage Nerd. It is everything I was before but more.
The journey of blogging and delving into vintage has been a long process. Many, many challenges were thrown at me-having to change my name, not finding my niche, and more. They say that perhaps the Universe throws challenges before us to test us if we really want what we say we want. I think that is true. At least from my life and blogging experience, I do think it is. I took on this challenge for a few reasons. I wanted to challenge myself, I also wanted to make sure I wrote everyday to improve my writing skills, I want to keep creative everyday for myself, and I want to show the vintage community that although I did change blog names and drop my stage name that I am still here.
At the end of the day if you are blogging and you aren't happy with it then perhaps you need a change. The change did wonders for me. I am beyond elated with being able to blog everyday. I won't lie, some days are hard as I so suffer from fatigue due to my disability (I have CMT), I have three small children, and my husband works all week. Not having a support system can be a downer for anyone but being able to blog and do what I do, I find so much support and affection within the vintage community. It really is a special and unique group of individuals who welcome you with open arms. You don't find many communities like that. We are lucky, aren't we?
So I am almost at my SIX month mark to my challenge and I do hope you have been enjoying my various medleys of posts. If you would like to see something specific on A Vintage Nerd, just drop me a line at avintagenerd@gmail.com and I will try my best to fulfill your request. I would also ask if you could spread the word. At A Vintage Nerd my two main objectives are to Inform and to Inspire my readers. I would love for others to see more of what I do. Feel free to follow me on Instagram as well-I share a great deal on that social media network. I love it, don't you?
Woo hoo! Congratulations at you conquest! Big cheers to many more great posts!
