Yesterday I spotlighted the WWI themed film called Flyboys based on the true story of the Lafayette Escadrille. I wanted to share with you some incredible photos of the real life Flyboys that the film was based on. There are not a lot of photos around but I found these and I love them. They really give you a sense of the men who sacrificed their time and lives to fighting for freedom as fighter pilots during WWI.

Although it's probably not too historically accurate, I LOVE the "Flyboys" movie!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I haven't seen this movie. I must watch this very soon. Great pictures, I love seeing the old planes, and those uniforms are too cool.

I’d encourage you to view “Flyboys” with director Tony Bill’s & producer Dean Devlin’s co-commentary: some intriguing production info, *plus some seldom-heard historical info. They reference “the special features”, which are available on the 2-dvd Collector’s Edition; I found a copy on eBay, & am glad I did, especially for the higher-resolution feature film disc.
DeleteGood luck with your pearls—& purls.
