One of the most important accessories for a girl in the 1960's was her hairstyle. It was her statement piece above all other pieces. It set the tone to her personal style whether she was a hippie or a more conservation kind of girl. Hair was everything. Usually the bigger and the more creative it was, the better the hairstyle.
In 1967, Barbie came out with a set of hair pieces, wigs, and other accessories so that any little girl could dress up their doll in a super groovy fashion. This year is the 50th Anniversary of this set called Flair Hair. In my research I have found conflicting information as to whether the set came with a doll or just the hair accessories. But one thing is for sure, this anniversary set is must have for any Barbie fan or just anyone who loves the 1960's.
When I saw that they were reissuing the Barbie Hair Flair I knew I had to snag it up. It's taking a lot for me not to open it but because its such a great collector's piece I won't. It comes with one Barbie doll in a pretty 1960's mod dress. She's wearing a pair of dangle earrings that are perfectly groovy and coordinating pink shoes. It also comes with two wigs and two hair pieces that I wish came in my color and size. It's just all too cute for words. Barbie really has a way to make a girl of any age happy.
