6 Powerful Classic Film Performances By People of Color

I think there are so many powerful performances by actors and actresses of color that go largely unnoticed. Some like Sidney Poitier shined in their roles and were celebrated for their work while there were others like Juanita Moore whose work would be somewhat forgotten years later.

It is so important to be seen and heard. No one wants to go through life invisible and unnoticed. Having actors and actresses of color play meaningful roles in film not only elevates the story but gives those who are watching the film a chance to be seen and heard.

In this post I share with you 6 powerful performances by people of color that I personally found to be beautiful, poignant, and unforgettable. Are there other actors and actresses of color that played roles in films that you found moving and inspirational?
