Ghost Story (1981)
I have people asking me for movie recommendations all the time. I love to share what films I have watched and maybe introduce them to movies they never heard of before. Recently I was asked what are my go-to horror movies that I enjoy watching. It is the season for all things spooky so after much thought I put together a short list of my five go-horror movies that I love to watch over and over again.
These are five films I have no problem watching outside of the Halloween season. I watch them at least once a year. Ghost Story (1981) has a legit spooky ghost story with a heap of Old Hollywood stars as the leads in the film, The Legacy (1978) has a creepy gorgeous house with a mysterious satanic ring of power and a beautiful couple trying to figure out whats happening, The Changeling (1980) is set at another spooky house with an outstanding dramatic performance by George C. Scott, The Frighteners (1996) has some great twists and turns and a performance by Michael J. Fox that I can watch over and over again, and lastly The Haunting (1999) has Lili Taylor set in yet another spooky house that tells a deeply sad story that just always haunts me.
Each of these films has enough scares that keep you interested but also twists, romance, drama, and mystery. A good movie with great writing always keeps me coming back for more. These are some of my go-to horror movies that I love to watch over and over anytime of the year, what are yours?
