February brought many of us snow storms and freezing temperatures but it also brought many of us Valentine's Day. I am not big into that particular holiday but I have found the fun in it after I had my children. This year we spent our Valentine's Day with our three little Valentine's. We surprised them with little gifts and I gave them a 1960's Valentine Day Card each. We ate out and saw a movie but the best part was being together for the entire day.

I found some sweet articles about love stories and a few posts from my previous blog, Bunny's Victory. I hope you enjoy them all.

How was your Valentine's Day this year? Do you celebrate this holiday in a big way or just have fun with it in little ways like I do?

You cannot imagine my excitement when I heard that the Museum of Moving Image was going to host a Mad Men exhibit. From March 14 to June 14 the museum's exhibit will explore the process of Mad Men which will include large scale sets, props, art, video clips, and over 25 costumes (I may be tempted to take one home with me!).

This will be the first time items from the show will be shown in such a large scale. Matthew Weiner (creator of Mad Men) will be visiting one night in March to do a talk about the show and he personally selected a series of films to be shown between March 14 to April 26.

Keep your eyes peeled because if you are in New York or visiting there may be other Mad Men events happening in conjunction with the series ending. Two such neat tours that are already established here in New York are the Mad Men Tour and the Mad Men Cocktails Tour Experience.

Mad Men's final seven episodes will be airing on AMC on Sundays at 10pm from April 5 to May 17.

A Few Bits and Bobs

What happens when you purchase or receive a slew of pretty things over a few months? You end up with a stack of a few bits and bobs. I have been wanting to share them with you for a while so I finally decluttered my little stash and took some photos to share.

The first two photos are from a pen pal type of swap that I made with someone in London. I think my favorite two bits are the vintage double decker bus toy and the Doctor Who brooch. Doing this made me miss pen palling which I had done between the ages of 14 and 22. This was such fun to do!

The third photo contains a mesh of different things. A vintage 1960's yellow crocheted headband, some plastic headbands I scored at the dollar store, a clutch purse from Candy Strike, a pair of glitter donate earrings from one of my Glitterati monthly boxes, and some goodies given to my by my friend Brittany from Va-Voom Vintage. I believe there is also a headband I purchased in Florida during my trip in October in this photo as well of nifty faux cat eye glasses.

The final photos include a bunch of things I scored while at my trip to Disney in the fall. There were so many fun things that I saw in the stores but I scored a headband, a cell phone wristlet, a scarf, and a few other little things. I thought they were fun yet subtle pieces that I could wear on a daily basis.

Do you have stashes of goodies just piling up in your home? What are they? Are you like me and you forget what you have piled in the stash? I think decluttering my pile and sharing it with all of you gave me a chance to put things away and incorporate them into my everyday stuff. Finally!

The Evolution of the Oscar Dress

The Oscars. The yearly Hollywood award show that showcases the seemingly best of the best of the film industry. This year it will be hosted by our very own NPH (Neil Patrick Harris) who I am sure is going to make the three hour show more enjoyable than we expect.

But before we put all our television sets and ipads on to watch the Oscars I wanted to share with you a glimpse at the evolution of the Oscar Dress. I found this great article that included all the woman who won the Best Actress Award since 1929. Some were hits and some did miss but either way I think its neat to be able to take a look back before the big day. I admire all the amazing beauty that can be found in the fashion especially from those of yesteryear.

I love these images! Go figure, my favorites are the ones from the 50's and early 60's. The 80's to me was a slew of horrible dresses but it was the 80's and I think that can be forgiven.

I cannot wait to see the dresses that will be worn during this next Oscar award show. If you would like to see the actresses in these dresses the images are in this article HERE.

Are you going to watch the Oscar award show? Are there any films or actors that you are rooting for? What were your favorite dresses that these Best Actress Oscar winners wore?
