A Modern Polaroid

A Vintage Nerd, Vintage Blog, Polaroids, Vintage Polaroids

Yesterday I mentioned using my new camera, the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 on my anniversary date with my husband. I grew up with my father using a Polaroid camera and as a result my childhood photos are in Polaroid format. When I saw this camera on Amazon, memories of that 1970s Polaroid came flooding back and I knew I had to try it out.

The Instax is super easy to use. You place the batteries inside (they come with the purchase), you turn it on by pressing the button on the side of the lens. When the lens pops up that means it is on, when you close the lens it is off. You can turn the dial on the lens for the lighting you choose. And the button on the right of the camera is where you press to take the photo.

Have you ever used a Polaroid? Do you have fond memories of them like I do? Isn't this camera adorable?

I haven't used a Polaroid in years, we mostly shoot 120 film with our vintage cameras.
