When you take a look at the amount of classic films set in the jungles of Africa you would be quite surprised. Or perhaps not. In the 1950's heaps of action and adventure films were set with the jungles of Africa as their backdrop. There are twelve films alone that Johnny Weissmuller starred in as Tarzan. Trader Horn was the first film ever that was shot in Africa as a location and not a documentary.
Each film explores the mysteries of Africa as the characters go on adventures that lead to treasure, romance, and safaris. Each of these films is based on a book of the same name as the film title, so if you find the film interesting enough I encourage you to find the book and compare the two. Most likely it will be just as adventurous reading these tales set in Africa as it is watching it!
Have you seen any of these recommendations? Are you a fan of the Tarzan film series? Have you ever found the films set in Africa to have an adventurous vibe to them?
