Perfect Summer Lippy: NYX Butter LipGloss

avintagenerd

I love lipstick! It is the one thing makeup-wise that you will always find in my purse. A good lipstick or gloss can instantly brighten up your face.

Although I love my MAC lipstick they can kind of feel heavy during the hot and humid months of summer here in NY. I lucked out when I received my very first Ipsy Makeup Bag for June and it contained a NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel. I will share with you what else I received in my bag soon.

After I tried it out and I was blown away! It wasn't gooey, it wasn't sticky, and it smelled DIVINE! I was sold! I haven't worn lip gloss in ages because so many are gooey and it is such a put off for me. These lip glosses smell good, apply smoothly, and look great. Instead of applying your traditional red lipstick, you can apply NYX's Butter Gloss Cherry Pie (the one I am wearing in the photo below). If you want the gloss to pop more I suggest applying lip liner as well.

I this it is such a refreshing alternative and the perfect summer lippy (lipstick).

NYX Butter Gloss

There are 12 different colors and "flavors". You can find them anywhere where NYX is sold but I found mine at Ulta. Aside from the Apple Strudel that I received from Ipsy I also purchased Eclair, Peach Cobbler, and Cherry Pie. I just love them all and they are now my "go-to" lippies (lipstick) of choice. Aren't the name just super cute too!

Have you tried NYX's Butter Gloss yet? If you have, which ones are your favorites?

  1. Totally cute names!!! I really like it when beauty products turn to the grocery store for naming inspiration.

I love glosses and stains during the summer for the same reason. What I often do, especially on days when I'm not doing a shoot, is to line my lips with coloured pencil then go over it with stain and/or gloss. The two together usually last nearly as long as my most stay-put lipstick, but are lighter and better suited to the sizzling hot Okanagan heat we get here.

I am so happy that a product recommended by a blogger on the North American continent is available over here in the UK at a very reasonable price!! The next time I have to go into town I am going to my nearest stockist and hope they have it in :-)
