Creating your own vintage style can be daunting and overwhelming at the beginning. Not everyone is born with a keen sense of fashion and not everyone has heaps of time to dedicate to creating their own style.

I am here to share with you a bit of my journey, some tips, advice, and wisdom from this vintage nerd who has tried it all and finally found what works best for me. Best bit of advice I can give to those wanting to create their own vintage style is to be open to the process, be true to yourself, and have lots and lots of fun. Without the fun I feel like what's the point of it all. It should be fun and it should be a learning experience.

Here is what I learned so far:

I hope you may find these tips useful and if there is anything you would like to see in this style series, please let me know! And if you can, please subscribe, like my video, and share it with others! Thanks!

  1. Loved every word you've said, dear.
And, the truth is: my favorite decade will remain the 1930s.. as something I hold dear.. not as something I wear.. since I have determined that the style of the era (as amazing as it might be in the images) - not so amazing on my body.. so I second your statement of wearing what suits you.. and what makes you happy.
    Have a great weekend!

    1. When first learning to dress vintage I was confused on what was right for me . Choosing the right colors was the hardest part There is a really great book I use that helps me find the right colors for my hair color, eye color and skin tone "Color Me Beautiful" http://www.amazon.com/Color-Me-Beautiful-Carole-Jackson/dp/0345345886/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431187990&sr=8-1&keywords=color+me+beautiful+book

  3. Fantastic advice - one can really see that it's coming from a place of firsthand experience. I love where your style has evolved to these days, sweet gal, and truly do think of you first and foremost now when it comes to cute, classic, fun early 60s fashions (in particular, I mean). Thank you for another awesome video!

  4. Great stuff! I always enjoy anything on finding your own style, since I feel like I am constantly doing that. Possibly because I don't put enough time into it. I really love that you shared the styles that you didn't like as well as those you did! It's all too easy to imagine that other women have it together all the time and naturally have perfect style. And I really love the late 60s looks you have settled on for now. They do suit you really well!

  5. Really great pieces of advice there. I agree so much with that first bit - just try everything! There's something to love from practically every decade, and you might not realize how perfect it is for you until it's on your body.
What lip color are you wearing in the video? It's so pretty!
