There was a time when script was taught in schools and letter writing was a common everyday practice. I am so grateful that I got a chance to take penmanship in elementary school. I always found the style in which people wrote to be fascinating. Did they write big or small, messy or neat, was their script beautiful to look at.
I discovered photo of a paper that was from Elizabeth Taylor's commissary menu that has a slew of Old Hollywood signatures on it. I am assuming she may have passed it around and asked those around to sign it for her. How many Old Hollywood stars signatures can you recognize?
What fun!
ReplyDeleteHave you read the book "Letters from Hollywood"? It came out a few years ago and is probably my favorite collection of old Hollywood letters, since it has actual (and readable) images of all the letters included. It's a gorgeous book and I really loved getting to see everyone's handwriting!
Omg thank you for that recommendation!! I just bought it! It sounds so good-right up my alley! Thank you!!!! xox
