Old Fashioned Picnic In Central Park

A Vintage Nerd, Vintage Blog, Retro Lifestyle Blog, Picnic in Central Park

Having a picnic in Central Park are one of those things that are on my bucket list. I know you may assume because I live here that I hang out in Manhattan everyday but I don't. Most New Yorkers don't. Most just work there, eat, and leave for home in the other boroughs or even drive to Long Island, New Jersey, or Connecticut. So going into the city (Manhattan) is treat for us New Yorkers as well!

A blogger you may know well, Beccie, from Sew Retro Rose, is here on holiday all the way from Australia. The very first day she was here we met up with my family and had a little picnic in Central Park. My husband picked an amazing spot because Belvedere Castle was our backdrop. How beautiful is that!

My babies were super excited to meet Beccie and she gifted them each a beautiful handmade drawstring bag with their names on it. They were so happy. Each one held a book, chocolates, and a stuffed animal that is found only in Australia-Koala bear, Wombat, and Kangaroo with her Joey. We in turn gifted her a purple, sparkly mermaid brooch with matching earrings from Poison of Choice.

Afterwards we headed to my favorite art museum called The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I haven't been there in ages but I began frequenting it when I was a teenager. It took me a bit to get used to it again although at one point it was like a second home to me. I just love it there.

Before we knew it our morning and early afternoon together was over, but there is more to come. Do you have a bucket list? What is on it? Do you enjoy picnics? If so, what do you like to bring at your at them?

  1. It looks like a movie. I particularly love your flower crown. I love going to Central Park once or twice a year with my dogs and eating a good New York bagel

  4. I've never been to New York but it is one of my dreams to have a picnic in Central Park. Now I want to even more. Even more special that you got to share it with a fellow vintage loving blogger. What a special experience.
