It's that time of the year folks, at least it is here at A Vintage Nerd Headquarters. The time of the year where my children get book bags filled with brand new school supplies, get much needed haircuts, and no longer are able to sleep in and lounge about the house. Its time to continue the learning in a classroom setting, meet new teachers, learn new rules, and make new friends.
Honestly I always feel like the new year starts in September because that is when we start school. I still have a hard time sleeping the night before even though I am technically no longer a student nor am I no longer a teacher. That nervousness is still there but I love just about everything about starting school fresh in September.
That brings me to share with you all a few of my personal favorite classic films that bring us back into that classroom. Whether there is conflict with a teacher or the students causing trouble (and in some cases both) these film recommendations really do bring you back to school with Old Hollywood.

The teen angst experience in a school setting wasn't often shared on films as much as it was during my childhood in the 1980's. Some of you may recall my Pop Culture themed posts that I would share on Tuesdays. Well I decided to include some of my favorite back to school films from the 80's as an honorable mention.
