Fifty Fashion Looks That Changed The 1960's is a wonderful little hard cover book that takes a good long look at the fashions from 1960 to 1969. It written by Paula Reed who has put together five books like this one from the 1950's to the 1990's.

Having one of her books makes me wish that she would do a 1930's and 1940's edition as well. How great would that be?

First of all I am not a huge fan of hard cover books but I just love the size of this one! I also love how each year has a few fashion looks so the author just doesn't focus on one year more than the other. I found all the years covered really well.

I also love the photos that were included and how the author chose a whole array of people from Truman Capote to Twiggy to Marsha Hunt. Each look or fashion inspiration is shared in detailed as well as being very informative. I learned so much by reading this book. I really feel I have a larger understanding and appreciation about the fashion of the 1960's as well as those who created it and helped it come to life.

I am curious to see the author's 1950's fashion book and I already added it to my growing list on Amazon. You can never have enough books on fashion can you?

  1. Never, ever!!!! :) Thank you for the lovely review. The 1960s take on romantic fashions featured here is so sublimely pretty - one of my personal favourite styles from that decade.
