AVN Vlog One: World's Fair Anniversary Festival

June 08, 2015
A Vintage Nerd, Vintage Blog, World's Fair Anniversary Festival, Retro Fashion Blog, Retro Lifestyle Blog, Pretty in Pink Fashion

Today I attended a super fun vintagey event located at the Flushing Meadow Park in Queens, New York. We haven't had a World's Fair in New York for sometime now. The first was in 1939 and the last in 1964. The 1964 World's Fair has special meaning to me because my father actually performed with his band as a teenager at the fair. As a special node to him and the fair I did a photo shoot there a few years back that you can see HERE.

I put together my first vlog for you and hope to be creating more vlogs of vintagey events for my channel which you can find HERE.

Tune in this week for a look at the super fun 1960's does 1980's ode to Pretty in Pink outfit I wore to the fair!

How I Put Together A Simple 1960's Look

This past weekend I attending a really fun event that I will share with you in my next post but before we headed off to the event I decided to do a quick impromptu video of how I put together a really simple but cute 1960's inspired outfit.

That time of day was really sunny and so my husband who was recording didn't notice that there were shadows all over my face so I apologize beforehand for not being able to see my face as clearly as I would have liked but he did a great job irregardless.

I liked doing a video outside and if you would like to see more let me know what you would like to see videos of.

I hope you liked it and don't forget to subscribe to my channel HERE when you get the chance. Thanks!

I think it's sort of neat to see what things people buy and what amazing scores they made. I have watched a few haul videos on YouTube but I never saw a vintage one. I decided to put together my first vintage haul video which includes the things I purchased over the winter.

Do you like haul videos? Would you like to see more of my vintage hauls? Which item did you like best? What vintage things did you score this past winter?

Finding some modern reading on the past can be a tricky thing so today I would like to share with you four vintage magazine recommendations. They each offer something different and new but always with the love of the past in mind.

A Vintage Nerd, Vintage Blog, 1960s Blog, 1960s Fashion Inspiration, Retro Fashion Inspiration, Vintage Inspired Fashion Blog

These are just four magazines but I have my eye on a few more that I can recommend in another video at another time. I hope you like it. I did my video in my bedroom this time around to change things up a bit. Still trying to figure out the best lighting and best spot to do them. Rome wasn't built in a day, right?

Are there any vintage themed magazines that you love reading? Which are you favorites from this list?

I know, I know, Christmas is over and gone, but I really wanted to share with you the gifts that Santa gave me this year.

These videos will be included in a post along with photos and a brief paragraph or two. I happen to be a very visual person so I love looking at photos but I think its also nice to hear the person sharing things on a video as well.

Thank you all for stopping by my Youtube Channel. It's been fun making videos and I think I am finally figuring out how all of it works. Tricky business I tell you! I learned a few important things in this video making process that I look forward to sharing with you soon.

You can watch my video HERE and also see what great vintage and vintagey gifts that Santa gave to me this year.
