The Real Land Girls

A Vintage Nerd, Real Land Girls, WWII Land Girls, The Real Land Girls, Women of World War II

Yesterday I shared with you a must see tv show called Land Girls. Today I want to share with you some photos of the real land girls in all their fabulousness.

If you take a close look these ladies were stylish despite their drabby uniforms and seemed to bring a sense of fun to their often difficult tasks. I love how well groomed they were even though they were working in the sun and doing hard labor. What I admire about these women is seen in their smiles.

In the middle of a world at war and working to feed a nation, these women sacrificed themselves for the greater good. I think the best way to thank the heroes of this particular generation is to remember them and to teach our children about them.

Bravo Land Girls! Thank you for your service!

  1. Great photos, thanks for sharing! I think the fruit pickers out of uniform look like they're having the most fun!! Gosh, I've seen those uniforms in museums and they ain't attractive, really thick and bulky. Maybe that was the idea!! P x
